We Aren’t Horsin’ Around

Currently, as many of you know we have two big projects going on here at the studio – our book project, and our ‘A Healing Vase’ initiative. I wanted to update everyone about them!

A Potter’s Dream: Myths & Legends

I am absolutely thrilled that our first book is coming out and will be available in early December. We are currently at 68% percent of our crowdfunding goal to cover half of the printing costs for the book. This campaign is not only your opportunity to be among the first to receive your signed copy of the book, but also some great pottery items!

Draft Book Cover

We aren’t horsin’ around and are offering some fantastic perks that include not only the book, but some beautiful raku pottery items. Today I am posting two one off items that are available to perhaps spark your interest and help us reach our goal because we just couldn’t bear it if we didn’t! These are one off perks, so act quickly if you are interested in them.

Raku Pottery Seahorse – Available exclusively through our book campaign!
Raku Pottery Bear – Available exclusively through our book campaign!

Each of these items are available for $70USD, which is inclusive of shipping within Canada or the US, a signed copy of the book, and recognition in the book as a supporter of this project.

About the Book

‘A Potter’s Dream: Myths & Legends’ pairs my pottery creations with myths and legends from around the world retold with my own quirky spin. It makes for a great coffee table book, bedtime reading, bathroom book or gift for the art lover on your shopping list.

Please take a moment to check out our crowdfunding campaign here. All of the items have shipping included in the cost, so the price you see is the price you pay. In addition to these two gems, there are raku vases, owls, Christmas ornaments, and Buddha necklaces available, all paired with the book! There is even a perk that allows you to work with me to create a myth/legend that will be featured in the book. This could be your own personal love story, or a friends, thus making a beautiful gift for a special someone, wedding or anniversary!

Can’t support the campaign at this time, but like what we are doing? You can still help by sharing our project on social media, or our facebook post about the project.

A Vase of Healing Project

After much deliberation and considering all of your wonderful comments and insights as to which vase we should pick (insert drum roll) a choice has been made! This will be the vase for the project:

I really enjoyed reading everyone’s rationale for the choice of vase they preferred. We ultimately decided to go with this vase for a few reasons that you mentioned that particularly resonated with us.

We chose the wider vase because it could hold more healing and love and had a wider opening to release grief and those things not serving people any longer. It was a close call though, and I could see the points that those who chose the other vase made.

If you or anyone you know wants to release their grief, past trauma, or anything they would like to let go of or find peace around, it is not too late to participate. You can do so by commenting on this post before October 27th!

The good news, is that we will be doing this project on an annual basis! I also have another similar, yet different project planned for December, but you are going to have to wait to hear more of the details!

What do you think of sea horse and seated bear? If you like them it may be ur-sine to check out how you can get them by supporting our book project.

    1. Thank you so much Julia! I am going to be working on the reduction material for the transformation over the weekend. I am so excited and reading over all the comments and emails I got a little emotional last night. I hope your weekend is off to a great start!
