Apollo’s Song, Share Your Song!

Today, I introduce to the world one of my recent raku pottery vase creations called Apollo’s Song! This one of a kind pottery creation is named in honour of the Greek god of music, among many other things, Apollo.

But wait! There is more!

After all the fun we had here at The Alchemist’s Studio with the “Name that Vase” post, we thought it might be a fun idea to put together a top ten playlist for this vase, which I will include as part of the story.

What song, from any era or genre, do you think suits this vase? Or what songs from any time, might you suggest for Apollo’s Top Ten? Please let us know the name of the song title, and why you chose it.

Maybe I will use the number one song, in my next video throwing pottery on the wheel. You can also check out more of our pottery vases here while picking your song!

    1. Thanks for sharing the video. I can see Apollo on Mount Olympus now, and I think someone is feeding him grapes!

  1. Oh I love this! I would like to submit the song “What if God Was One of Us” By Joan Osborne

  2. I love the bold shape and the glaze you used to give it that delicate metallic finish! I would have to give a vote for classical on this one. I submit “Adagio” from “Songs From a Secret Garden,” because the vase actually reminds me of fragile but sophisticated glass work. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for your very kind words! I can see why you would gravitate towards the classical, and I am honoured that you would choose such a beautiful song for this piece! I hope you enjoy the rest of your week!

  3. If I can go out on a limb and suggest Van Halen, Right Now. Apollo, above all is the leader of the Muses, patron of music and poetry and the inventor of string music and in my opinion Eddie Van Halen is one great composer of string music. ‘Right Now’, one of my favorites. It inspires, creates, relaxes and as the lyrics quotes ‘Catch that magic moment’ to create something with such beauty.

    1. You can go out on a limb! I love that song too and I think even Apollo would have been impressed. I find that song to be very uplifting. I think Van Halen’s groupies may have rivaled Apollo’s numbers 😉

  4. I would recommend listening to a beautiful song by the Honey Dewdrops called Remington. It’s ethereal quality and haunting instrumental is a perfect backdrop to such a beautiful piece! Worth a listen:)
