Born from fire and smoke, this raku vessel draws its inspiration from the Southern Pinwheel Galaxy – a vast, spiralling system of stars, dust, and luminous gas suspended in deep time. Its surface reads like a celestial map: nebular blues drift into radiant reds, bruised violets, and metallic silvers, each hue emerging through the unpredictable alchemy of flame, carbon, and reduction.

The crackled glaze and smoky patina recall ionized clouds and stellar nurseries, places where matter gathers, collapses, and ignites. Veins of copper and ash trace across the form like cosmic currents, suggesting motion held in stillness – a galaxy paused mid-rotation.
