Description
Convergence is a sculptural study in connection and motion. Formed from three intertwining rings whose paths meet in a timeless embrace, each curve captures motion frozen in time. Three paths crossing, influencing, in a state of unlimited potential.
The rings rise and fold together in a way that feels both inevitable, mechanical and delicate, symbolizing relationships, shared journeys, and the quiet moments where lives intersect. Whether seen as unity, duality, or harmony in tension, the piece invites contemplation from every angle. Its flowing lines cast shifting shadows, creating movement even in stillness.
Inspired by an orbital model, this sculpture invites viewers to reflect on the interconnectedness and potential of all things big and small. We are shaped by the people we meet, the moments we share, and the quiet forces that move between us. Every gesture, every intersection, sends ripples outward. In this vast tapestry, nothing stands alone; we rise, change, and converge together.
The raku firing process, known for its unpredictability and beauty, involves removing the piece from the kiln while still glowing red-hot and placing it into combustible materials. This rapid cooling and reduction process results in unique effects and colour shifts on the surface, making this sculpture one-of-a-kind.
