The Vase of Attraction – Winter 2019

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce everyone to my next art project ‘The Vase of Attraction’. The best part of the project is that you can also participate. Yes. You!

I have been contemplating how I might integrate my spiritual practice into my artistic process and how that might involve and possibly help others with creating abundance. After contemplating this for sometime, I have come up with the concept for ‘The Vase of Attraction’.

My concept for this piece is to allow the process of raku and the flames of the reduction process to act as a powerful intention to bring positive change for all who to choose to participate in this process collectively.

Fresh off the potter’s wheel.

You may be wondering how you can participate in this process? The answer is simple. I am asking you to share one of the following in the written words of your choice in the comments below:

  • What you would like to attract for 2020. What are your hopes and dreams for the upcoming year? This could be anything from more love, to new opportunities, personal growth or more joy.
  • Globally, what positive changes you would like to see in our world. This could be anything from peace, prosperity, or any type of universal global healing.

I only ask that you keep all comments positive, non political and respectful. I look forward to your submissions in the comments below.

  3. Could you catch us with the joy of living? And that from one of your works, it continues to spread and shine on the world!
Before going to the world (I know I’m still exaggerating), the work will embellish the heart and life of those who cross it 🙂
Ok, it’s a little abstract, the joy of living.
    It’s a child’s laugh
    An adult smile
A light we love so much to see
A vase that amazes us 🙂 and you do it very well.

    1. You are very kind and sweet and your comment, though exaggerated has certainly embellished my heart this morning! The joy of living is the most important part of life to keep sight of 😉 Thank you for such a beautiful reminder!

    🤗

    1. I am with you on both of those efforts! I love that you are thinking about the world and helping to heal it. That is often on my mind.

Your comments always help make my days more joyous! I noticed that you decided to get the book and the little vase. You will need to tell me about the colours you like 😉

Hope your weekend was full of joy and good things 😉

      1. I’m so glad you enjoyed my comments. Yes, I really wanted the book from the beginning but trying to stay within my budget. I love copper and blues – actually I love all colors.

Our weekend was peaceful even though we both are a bit under the weather. I feel much better today, but my hubby is still struggling with a cold. This too shall pass.

      2. I am sorry to hear that you are both under the weather. Colds this time of year can be brutal with all the shifting temperatures.

I really appreciate that you got the book and I will include a little something special with yours, as a thank you for all your encouragement!

    1. Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful wish for the world Tricia. I am right there with you in wishing for those things! I hope you are having a wonderful week so far!

  5. As you know, I live in the Deep South, USA. And here in the South— especially in the rural South, but not uncommon in the cities— folks are mannerly. There is a hierarchy to holding doors open. Younger folks refer to their elders as, Sir and Ma’am. People make eye contact as they pass one another on the street. They may even smile, nod, and say, “Hey.” Often times a cashier will finish a transaction with “Have a good one” or “Have a blessed day.”

I take these things for granted but I know they make a difference in day-to-day life.

For the past several weeks we’ve been traveling abroad and I am here to tell you things are not as they are in the South. And it shows in the faces of folks we pass or otherwise interact with. They behave as if other humans are just obstacles in their paths. I can’t help but wonder if we all wouldn’t be better off adopting some Southern mannerisms.

And so— may I suggest a few baby steps toward loftier wishes? When you pass someone on the street, look at them and smile. Hold the door for an old lady carrying her basket, or a young women with a child in tow. Step aside when you see a man with a cane approach. If you see a couple looking perplexed and out of place at an airport or train station, ask if they need help. Let someone turn into traffic in front of you. Slow down for the bicyclist.

Treat others as you would like to be treated. What have we got to lose?

  6. I won’t be personal, so globally – for people to just be how they wish, do as they wish (but keeping in regards to others’ safety) & live a life too productive to have time to whine how they are offended & outraged – just perpetuating an angry energy across the lands. People are more tolerant of one another than ever before, but people are griping more than ever. Summing it up: less greed, less fear, less vengeful mindsets, less complaining – more appreciation for simply being alive on a beautiful place. Can all that be put in there? : )

  7. I would like to join in and say that I would like to attract more Love and Joy into my personal life. I would also like to find my niche of those who like the art that I do in my business life and have success! And for everyone out there I would like to attract the same for them as well! Great project idea. I wish you many Blessings.

  8. My wish is a cure for ALS (my dear sister died from it and so many are suffering and dying from this horrible disease)
Also, our world is such a disaster due to climate change, something more and very quickly has to be done to save humanity from the destruction that is unraveling so fast. (so very scary)

  9. I know I’m getting in on this very late, but I would like to add my intentions of manifesting my desires for real love, a family, and enjoyable job opportunities for myself this year.
Thank you for doing this, it’s another beautiful project idea.

    1. You are right on time! The weather as of late has not been conducive for a raku firing. Must be meant to be, I am happy to include you in on this project and thank you for your kind comment and feedback. Wishing you much love, family and a job opportunity beyond your most wildest imaginings!

  10. I always look forward to your written sharing. Your raku creations are absolutely wonderful each with its own story. I love that. But you also offer a gentle and welcoming atmosphere. Thank you 🙏. If it’s not too late, may I add an intention for abundance please. For the world I hope for kindness towards the earth itself and to each other. For myself, heart, to make love visible in the heart of the world (creating). Thank you, suzanne ❤️

    1. Thank you so much for your very kind and generous comment. It is important for me to create a welcoming atmosphere and try to bring more positive energy into this world! It surely needs it. It is not too late to add your intentions for this project. The winter weather has delayed my firing of the piece. I guess that was meant to be 😉 Your intention is very beautiful, we all need more kindness in the world and the earth needs it desperately these days. Thanks for sharing Suzanne!
