And here is your first peak at my new raku sculpture! My goal when glazing this piece for the raku was to get some of the red/brown metallic colours on the piece of the trunk and some of golden silvery metallic colours elsewhere.
This past weekend, I completed a raku pottery firing where I was hoping for some results with interesting textures. The kiln gods did not disappoint and here are a few of the results!
One of the things that I love about pottery is the magic of raku. It is a real game changer. The kinds of effects you can get from this process are unlike those you can get from conventional firing techniques.
