Sometimes we all need a good cry.
It felt good to get back on the wheel this week. It seems I am finally adjusting to this new normal of self isolation and I am determined to make this a creative time for myself.
I am on a healing journey, and I think many of us are in one way or another. I have heard it said that it is useful to think of one’s self as a tree. Grounded by roots, with a firm centre/core and flexible branches that can bend with the wind.
The firing is complete and the healing vase is here! We have included a video of the entire project. Please join us for the unveiling of ‘The Healing Vase’.
My concept for this piece is to allow the process of raku and the flames of the reduction process to act as a healing tonic for your grief and pain, for mine, and for all who to choose to participate in this process collectively. The end result – transforming pain and grief into an object of beauty.
You can receive a Christmas ornament, raku pottery owl, or even one of the vases featured in the book! How cool would it be to have a piece of art featured in a book that includes your name!
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce everyone to my next art project which has great personal meaning to me. The best part of the project is that you can also participate. Yes. You!
My creativity, and pottery has helped pull my mind out of some dark places during this experience, and what better time than now to make my first lamp!
