“I shall pass through this world but once.
If therefore, there be any kindness I can show,
or any good thing I can do, let me do it now:
let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
― Etienne de Grellet
With all that is going in the world,
It can be easy to miss the every day opportunities to be kind, but those opportunities have not gone away!
We always have the opportunity to choose our words and how we express them. We have the power to choose to focus our actions on growing loving kindness in the every day moments.
And on top of that, research shows that being kind even helps us each to feel better!

How lovely to read this and wonderful reminder to be always kind. I hope a lot of people will choose to be kind no matter how frustrating situations they meet everyday.
You are entirely correct.. it costs nothing to be kind and there’s far too little of it in the world recently.
If you like someone’s shoes or hair.. tell them. Hold the door for that nice woman behind you. Give a little extra to your tired waitress if/when you can. Say ‘Please’ ‘Thank you’ and ‘God Bless’..
Sometimes it’s the little things that can mean the world.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful post!
Nice
Indeed, costs nothing to be kind. I like to give some change to the homeless when I can, among other things. 🙂
Smiles are free! 🙂
Sometimes I am looked at crazily by the simple hi and hellos that spout from my mouth whilst entering a store or out somewhere. The main thing to think about is not to worry about it making people uncomfortable that you are kind enough to be that way if you are such as I am in that aspect. The way I see it is that you never know whose life you may be saving by a simple gesture of hello and wishing someone a good day. Doing little things for random strangers is something special too.
Totally agree and have had similar experiences just saying hello as well!
