With Holiday Cheer From The Chairman

hello my amazing followers.

Today, I am bringing to you

holiday cheer.

My resting cheerful face

Please enjoy or
consider your ankles attacked!

My minions have made these pottery things.

I do not understand them exactly but they do look fun to hit!

You see, they asked for my help – and I agreed – as long as I was awarded with the swattable decorations I asked for. So with that getting sorted out . . .

Here are shiny pointy things. I like to look at my reflection in them

Overlooking the minions while they decorate, cozy in my lion hat.

Thanks Chairman Meow!

So folks, what do you think of our vintage raku
Christmas-with-a-twist pieces?

And do you think Chairman Meow did a
good job sharing about them?

  1. very nice. One year our ‘meow’ climbed to the top of the tree and was our ‘star.’ I like the bell in the tree that looks like a planet and others with cracks.

    1. Oh my that must have been a treat to get them down! What did you do?

As for the pieces, there are a number that are bell shaped, but for the cracks that is all from the reduction aspect of the raku firing. Here is a video if youd like to learn more (in case you have not seen it): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZ6sANhsMUo It is also the healing vase project, which you may be interested in participating in for 2021? https://rakupottery.ca/the-healing-vase-project-2021/

Hope you are keeping well, Jane!

      1. Thanks for the information. I knew the cracks were part of the process and love cracks in all pottery, even the ones in my old dishes! As for getting the cat down, she’d usually rescue herself as we have beams she could climb into. She entertained us for hours jumping from beam to beam. Merry Christmas!

    1. Ha! You read his mind – yes the ones that cover his ears he is less patient for. The one in the video with the bells on it is his favourite and once he wears it he runs up and down the stairs making noise and having fun. 🙂

    1. in truth, he may do that even without the outfits LOL. that is in large part his normal face no matter what is happening. He is like the studio grumpy cat!

  2. Ohh– This seem to be a post especially for Mr. Meaoooww! The pics are all good, christmas trees too. The video, did you make the Santa Claus as well , the one in video of Mr. Chairman ?

    1. that santa is made of plastic so most definitely was not made here. I think it was from a second hand store! 🙂
