These ornaments are so good. Some of them are potters bells as well. Do they have a opening on top–for the decorative cloth ringing thing………Beautiful. The ornaments have only the tiniest hole at the top, otherwise they would explode in the kiln. I have made some, where before I closed them on the wheel they had a small piece of clay left in them, but they sound more like a rattle than a bell. Do they use ceramic bells in those celebrations?
Mostly metallic bells, What I was saying was just for decoration. Yes it may sound blunt. There are lot of clay things used in festival times of India. These are – potters clay lamps, of various sizes, colors, aclled diyas. Even the thing in video above shows clay things for burning essence. Then clay pots of various are also used. Some for carrying over head. Some for storing holy rice after worship. Traditions vary per occasion and per family.
