Day 17 – A Vase A Day Keeps The Anxiety Away

Continuing to pull

From what I have learned around how pottery has helped my PTSD, my plans to help manage the stress and anxiety on lockdown are simple: I will be making a new vase for each day.

I aim to continue updating this post each day with my latest lockdown vase!

Or at least that is the plan.

You can also see finished vases (ie not raw clay) here

  1. It is soothing and somehow, “connecting” to scroll through each lovely, earthy shape in the vases of each day. The combination of the natural with the smoothness that only comes from creative humankind brings such sense of holistic peace. Thank you.

  2. They are all lovely. I like the swirling vases the best. I bet you can focus on your hands on the clay and it has the same effect as mindfulness. Lovely. Have a blessed weekend. Love Joni

    1. Thank you Joni. I would say yes, it does indeed put me right in to the moment – the here and the now.

      1. I am sorry we kind of lost track of one another. Life gets busy and I use my reader so I end up staying in touch with the same people. You were one of my first followers and a kind soul. I will try and visit more often. Wishing you lots of love, joy and blessings. ❤️🤗🙏Joni

  3. They look lovely, loving how plain and simple they look . This definitely does look like finding peace getting them to be a vase from clay . Good job👍🏾🙌🏾

    1. Thank you GIkonyo. Yes, they are all very grey and basic until glazing! It is a lot of fun to move them to the next stage as well and get them fired and ready to share with you all!

  4. That’s such a wonderful message that I hope I can apply to myself too. Perhaps I’ll use writing instead. Great vases, and I hope your creative outlet keeps working out for you!

    1. Thank you Stuart, and I hope it may be working for you in your writing as well!
