We are taught in school that Magellan was the first to circumnavigate the globe. Actually, since Magellan was killed in the Philippines, he never completed the trip. Interestingly, the person to accomplish a circumnavigation of Earth was probably Magellan’s slave, Enrique. Enrique likely returned to his home in Malacca or Sumatra when he escaped after Magellan’s death. Throwing that in for what it is worth. 😊
