This Week At The Studio In Photos by thealchemistspottery on Sep 20, 2020Sep 20, 2020 A raku firing happened this week and went very well! Keep an eye out for pictures! Harvested all the tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers and received the Food Inspector‘s approval. Which turned out to be a great decision when the first frost came! New jewelry was added, including this Tree of Life Pendant A frog among the beans, thinking about the seasons changing. That’s been the week here. How’s your week been? The intensity of the food inspector’s eyes are truly earnest. He ain’t playing! Ya been very productive I see!🙏🐕♒️🌈
Yes she takes her job very seriously 🙂
A she, yes I agree! Her snout gave it FDA approval. Jajaja
I meant to comment on Thursday but some jerk intervened as I was looking at the twin vases. Next time 🙏🤬☮️
Wow! Look at your haul of goodies! I am impressed and kind of a little green with envy. The desert was not kind with the heat this year and my garden did not fair well, there is always next year 🙂 Love the frog photo, so cute! Peace and good tidings… 🙂
thank you! It has been a dry year here as well, but surely not as dry as an actual desert! I hope you are keeping well
We are almost through the worst of it. The fires have been the worst this year but hopefully rain is coming soon. Thank you 🙂
Wow. First frost. Here in the Sonoran Desert it’s still triple digits in the afternoon.
I can’t imagine that in September!
The dog sculpture is so realistic lol
She is, isnt she! 🙂
Great timing with the harvesting! 😀
Gotta listen to those weather reports! (even if sometimes it means prematurely covering or pulling plants!). The best guide is usually the full moon though 🙂 Stay well!
I really enjoy seeing your weekly photos – and the collection of vessels in the Kiln reminded me of a gathering of a harvest from the garden – I love the beautiful red dog – and all is well in your world. May your harvest of vessels be a glittering treasure trove – brining beauty into the world one at a time.
I love that parallel between a garden basket of vegetables and a kiln of pottery! Thank you for the wonderful imagery and your kind words. I hope you are keeping well, Lynda!
Your pics bring me a weird sense of calm.
im glad that they help you to feel calmer
Beautiful pics! Fall’s briskness has come our way! This morning it is sunny and 54 degrees F. Love it!!
its a lovely way to start the day! fresh clear air! Stay well!
That flower picture was beautiful!
Thank you! so glad you liked it. Keep well!
We had a very early frost here to 🥶
and now (a month later) its more normal! 🙂 Stay warm!
Love the diversity in this post.
Thank you! We try to include a variety of happenings 🙂 Stay well and thank you for your support!
What a haul from the garden, lucky you and good thinking getting it in before the first frost! Similarly to your Food Inspector, the Cat is our inspector-in-chief here, everything new in the house must be sniff-checked and tried for comfort.
Especially boxes, I bet! Chairman Meow tends to always have to test that they are taller than without a box ie https://rakupottery.ca/2018/12/11/a-christmas-message-from-chairman-meow/ Keep well!
Cutest food inspector ever, she’s doing a great job😍🐶
Thank you! She tends to taste all the merchandise and approves everything!
Love your sunflower photo especially. Looks like you had a great vegetable haul!
All the best from the other side of Canada
Thank you Laura! The sunflowers ended up being eaten mostly by birds. Tough to keep atop everything for harvest and drying! Hope you are keeping well!
