Stay Home for Now, But Enjoy the View!

In Atlantic Canada we have had great success with our coronavirus efforts. It helps that this area is more rural, and that nationally the government has offered financial support so that people could ‘stay the blazes’ home. Recently, we have created what is called the ‘Atlantic Bubble’, which in theory has opened our provincial borders back up (if you don’t mind waiting three hours parked on the highway.)

Unfortunately, other parts of Canada and our neighbours to the south have not been so fortunate. All of the new cases we have had recently have been clusters as a result of people returning from travel from outside of the Atlantic Bubble.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACE! (for now)

Since our beautiful province is off limits to so many, I wanted to share some of the natural beauty of this area with you through pictures.

Driving in the quiet rural community of Joggins, Nova Scotia
Heading to the beach at Joggins Fossil Cliffs
A view across Chignecto Bay
A face in the rocks
Getting the lowdown at Joggins Fossil Cliffs
The sometimes-wet cliffs at the Joggins Fossil Cliffs
Life flows where water flows.

I hope you have enjoyed your virtual tour of just some of what Nova Scotia has to offer.

“You should really stay home and please. don’t. stay. here.

We love all the visitors we get here normally, and hopefully we can welcome you all back in the summer of 2021.

Just don’t try to come here till the pandemic is over.

Stay safe and well.

    1. So glad to hear you enjoyed the photos, Janet! I hope you are having a great day and keeping safe and well.

  1. Great photos, Atlantic Canada is beautiful! I believe in staying home, leaving as little as possible (except the trip to the desert yesterday) and always wearing my mask when heading into a building of any kind. Be safe!

    1. I imagine heading in to the desert may be one of the best places to go! Masks on here whenever we are out in a store etc here as well. Together we will beat this!

      1. During the summer heat, I find that the number of people drops significantly which makes sense. The winter months can be chilly and very windy at about 3000 feet ASL in that area. I always wear my mask when heading into stores, and the Nevada Governor has ordered everyone do this. This will indeed end, but people need to use their brains. I see too many dolts not wearing masks.

  2. What pretty scenery! The fossil cliffs intrigue me, my undergraduate major was in paleontology. Sounds like you are safe where you are….stay there my friend!

    1. Thanks, Angela! It is a great place to be stuck 🙂 Stay safe where you are as well!

    1. Sometimes yes! Not allowed to take them though as its a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but there are fossils in other places as well 🙂

    1. Glad you enjoyed the view from there, Carol! I hope you are keeping safe and well!

  3. I only hope I can someday visit your beautiful country, Jay! And don’t worry, all the people willing to travel seem to have descended on San Diego for the Summer, just like normal, ugh.

    1. Sometimes things dont change, but in time I hope you will may be able to travel again. I hope we all can. <3

  4. Thanks for the tour! 😀
I almost went to Nova Scotia once, but ended up holidaying in Newfoundland and Labrador instead. At least I’ve seen it from the air, in and out of Halifax. 🙂

    1. That is something for sure! I imagine you had a great time in Newfoundland and Labrador. I have yet to go but would one day like to get there for sure!

    1. Thank you for your kind words! I am glad that it came across so vividly for you!

    1. Thank you for your comment and I am so glad you enjoyed a little tour around Nova Scotia! Keep well!

    1. Wonderful to hear! Glad to show you around a bit. Hope you are keeping safe and well!

  5. These pictures are breathtaking, I’m glad things are getting better north of the wall *game of thrones reference for inquiring minds*. Thank you for a beautiful tour of Canada.

    1. It is a lovely spot to be sure! Thanks for your comment and I hope you are keeping well!

  6. You’ve shown me precisely the kind of place I wish I could flee to. (We’re dealing with a lot of grocery cart lickin’ anti-maskers down here in Arkansas, and it’s tiring!). Hopefully we’ll get things all straightened out and your country won’t feel like the apartment above a meth lab. 😂 Cheers and thanks for the views!
