I have a confession to make, which is that there is a not so secret space in my heart filled with love for what might be considered ‘cheesy’ 80’s pop music. So when the opportunity came up to combine my love of pottery with an 80’s musical reference, how could I resist!

So what does one get when you combine pottery and 80’s musical cheese?
I’ll Tumble 4 Ya, Tumblers! Or as others may call them, drinking glasses suitable for wine, water or the beverage of your choice.

Here are a few of the designs I am prototyping.
Which one do you prefer?

These pieces will need to be bisque fired prior to glazing, so stay tuned for further updates. I will be testing different glazes out on these pieces and be sure to share the results here.
In the meantime, I will leave you with this:
(And if anyone knows Boy George, tell him thanks for the inspiration.)

2 and 5 as they’rea little wider at the top. 80s music, love it, and Culture Club.
Thanks for your feedback! Nothing like New Wave!
I liked numbers 1 and 5.
I like 4.
OOPS. I’ll stand next to you while tumble 4 ya. Me,too. I’m into all kinds of music, though there’s a Temple Shrine Space for 80s pop an metal. 🙂
My preference is #2/5 above.
Quite a great combination! thanks for your feedback, Jordan!
My pleasure. It’s always a cool experience IO look forward to when visiting your site. I always wanted to throw pots back in the early 90’s. Even went so far as to buy a scrap remainder of a rough cut circular stone slab that weighed about 500 pounds. I picked up a steel car wheel hub and post to mount it to, deconstructed a used bicycle with a free wheel on it to pedal the 500 pound disk up to speed where it’s weight and momentum might just keep going, spinning without the friction of my hands on the clay slowing it down much if at all… and then life got in the way, and I simply kept that idea watered via becoming wonderfully interested in Carl Jung and vessels and alchemy. Not a total loss, though I never threw a single vessel. So, literally call that a dry run. 🙂 I’m smiling and laughing just a bit thinking… hmmm, that memory had zero dust on it. Maybe… Hmmmm. Though now, I might get something that plugs in LOL.
3 and 5 offer more nose room! My first ever concert was to see Culture Club, I was besotted with Toyah Wilcox and Boy George. Are you considering glazing them in chama chama chameleon colours 😁
2 and 5 for me.
I went to see Toyah live. Loved her fresh style of music at the time.
Oh goodness, I had not, but chama chama chameleon colours sound perfectly amazing!
I like 1 and 4 size wise, but 5 is my favorite.
Tough choice but I like 1 and 4 best. I also have a penchant for cheesy 80s music. I’ve been singing Love Shack all morning.
TIN ROOF! RUSTED! 🙂 Hope you are keeping well (and now Love Shack is in my head too!)
1 & 4 look like good brandy snifters!
I’ll see your music confession and raise you a movie confession. We’ve been watching cheesy 80s movies: Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Bill & Ted, Risky Business, etc. 🙂
That sounds like a great way to spend time! I love that stuff as well!
The 80s were the best in so many ways for me! I like number five best. 😊
I think I like #2, it just looks like it would fit in your hand comfortably, or at least my hand!
Number 2 is my favourite.❤️ Glaze-wise, I loved the pale pink glazed pot you posted a few days ago. George will forever remain one of my favourite people. Here’s the perfect song title for you:

And most pertinent in these troubled times 🥰

Thank you for sharing this! I had not heard it before. I will give the pale pink some consideration!
Aw, you’re welcome! I can still remember watching it the day it aired…it was such a treat to find it on Youtube years later. Thank you!🥰
4
Number two in a white bisque.
thank you! that sounds lovely!
#5 would make a good size coffee tumbler.
I’ll tumble with 4.
Am I the only one who likes #3? Bummer. I’d forgotten this song, and also have a very secret abiding fondness of it. Thanks for the reminder.
You are most welcome and thank you for your feedback! Keep well!
#5 for me.
#2 looks perfect to me!
I love number 3 for some reason, then 5 I love also.
I’ll mention it the next time I see him.
I knew I could rely on you 😉
You got it!
Number 5
I’ll vote for #2. (Boy George has always been a hoot.)
Definitely agree! (and thanks for sharing your feedback!)
I, too, am an 80’s music TRAGIC. 🥰
They’re all lovely! My favourite is number two, I think. ❤️x
I like #2
# 2 is my favorite.
I like #2 best too! …with #5 coming in second.
Thanks for your feedback! It is a close race!
#2 speaks to me
Great idea!!! I like 2 & 4, seems like they would be easiest to hold.

I like 4 the best. It immediately jumped out at me.
I vote for #4!
I approve of your taste in music 🙂 I like all the tumblers, but #4 stands out a little more for me.
I am glad to hear that it resonated with you! thanks for your feedback!
Number 1 is my choice. I have to admit to enjoying some ’80’s tunes myself. They bring me back to my youth.
