You Are Making Me Grateful

It’s Thanksgiving here in Canada, and I have lots to be grateful for this year. The leaves are in full colour and putting on a dazzling show. Last night we had a beautiful Thanksgiving meal surrounded by wonderful people and lots of love. Life does not get much better than that.

Our Thanksgiving Turkey.

Except it does!

I continue to be touched and amazed by the responses to my ‘A Vase of Healing’ project. I love the openness and energy we are creating and I am excited for the resulting raku firing that is to come.

It’s not too late to participate in this project.

For those of you not in the know, โ€˜A Vase of Healingโ€™ is participatory art project for those experiencing grief or pain. My concept for this piece is to allow the process of raku and the flames of the reduction process to act as a healing tonic for your grief and pain, for mine, and for all who to choose to participate in this process collectively. The end result – will be an artistic raku pottery piece called ‘A Vase of Healing’.

Which piece should we use for the vase of healing?

If you, or someone you know are looking for any kind of healing, you can participate by commenting on the original post here.

In fact, I am so excited about this project, that I will be racing to include this vase in my upcoming book – ‘A Potter’s Dream: Myths & Legends’.

In order to print this book I am looking to crowdfund half of the printing costs so I can proceed with the project. I am hoping to get this book to print and ready to ship before Christmas and you can help and be among the first to receive a copy of this book. I am already at 34% of my goal! Thank you everyone who has supported this project so far!

Draft Book Cover

All of the listed perks are inclusive of shipping and include special acknowledgement within the book, and a signed copy of the book. You can also choose a level of support where you can receive a Christmas ornament, raku pottery owl, or even one of the vases featured in the book! How cool would it be to have a piece of art featured in a book that includes your name!

There is also the opportunity to work with me to create a vase story and raku pottery vase to celebrate someone special, a wedding, anniversary, achievement or anything you can dream up. Imagine having an art piece that celebrates your marriage, relationship or a loved one’s anniversary and have it featured in this book?

I hope you will consider participating and help me get this book to print. You can find out all the details of how you can get a copy of the book and some beautiful artwork by clicking here. If you are unable to do so, but like my work, please consider sharing this post or the campaign on social media.

Thank you so much for reading, and giving me so much to be thankful for! What are you grateful for this Canadian Thanksgiving?

In gratitude,

The Alchemist
