I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer. I wanted to share some pictures with everyone of my garden, and some pottery pieces in and around the studio.
A neighbour gave us this old door and we painted it red and put it in the garden to add some more colour and visual interest.
The plant behind the vase came in with a rose bush that a friend divided, and now has been transplanted to a few places on the property. Does anyone know the name of this plant?

It has been a strange year weather wise in Nova Scotia, but we should have plenty of grapes to make wine and jam with, and lots of tomatoes for sauce and salsa!
The chives survive, though I need to catch up on my weeding!
I love the way this pottery looks behind the aged barn board that is behind my work bench in the pottery studio!
More raku vases out and about at the studio! I love the contrasts of the colours of these pieces when placed outside in situ.
I love the flowers on this clematis plant. I am hoping to add a new clematis plant to an arbour I am building for the garden!
Some photos of the garden! So much goodness for the bees! The solar light in the middle belonged to an avid gardener who is no longer with us. I like to think that she is smiling somewhere that it is still in a garden.
You can see the summer is in full swing here at the studio! So much inspiration from nature! Which vases or images did you enjoy most?
I love your garden! I love placing pottery around where it peeks out from behind greenery. I have a couple of tree stumps on the side of my house surrounded by day lilies (and other sneaky growth that pops up). I found a tall, thin vase at a second hand shop for one stump, and an inherited round big blue pot (from who knows where) that sit on those stumps. They look casual and homemade, even if not by me. I would love wandering through your creations!

I like them all! Honestly!! As an avid gardener/photographer I find inspiration in photos such as yours. As for the yellow flowers…some kind of wildflower. That’s all I can tell you right now!

I love the shot from your garden of the orange tiger lilies the most as they remind me of my mum, we had them outside of my childhood home. I’m fond of the teal vase against the purple flowers, I like how the the different colors swirl around and also iridesce, it is an amazing piece. I am also drawn to the owl next to the red door with its knowing look. Your work is stunningly beautiful. Your garden is also lovely.

How to choose a photo so difficult? Your pieces of pottery enhance the garden giving it a fairy quality. The Yellow flowered bush, I am not sure but looks like what we used to call a buttercup bush. Love cats, I can imagine how he will not like one of his favourite places to be locked away.

Pleased you are using the bush name, Buttercup. I love cats have 2 and they run things, had to laugh at the cat but really should not. In all seriousness HE owns the tractor and you borrow it when he vacates it. Take care and you also have a day full of miracles.
We have 2 cats here! One runs the house and the other runs the studio. The cat in the house has his own chair (s) … I joke that they are his towers of power. LOL I hope your day is full of beauty and miracles 😉

Gosh, you know it’s hard for me to choose–I’m spellbound by most of your gorgeous raku vases, and the owl is quite intriguing too! I really got the feel of your garden from the photos–welcoming, peaceful, alive, kind and nurturing. I always gravitate toward the blue pieces…the one sort of turquoise vase near purple flowers–is there a painted scene on that vase, or are my old eyes deceiving me? Anyway, it’s so beautiful. I’m just constantly awed <3

That particular piece is a result of using a few different glazes and techniques with the hopes of achieving a scene, so I am really glad you noticed that!

Tomatoes! they taste so much better when they’re from your own garden! Sometimes I chop green grapes – when they’re no longer bitter but just sour – for the salad!
Indeed they do, and so many more varieties you can grow than are in the store! I will have to try a sour grape in my salad sometime, it could be nice. Is there a particular way you dress your salad when you include it?
