Unusual Blue & Pink Seahorse Found off the Coast of Canada

An unusual seahorse has been discovered on the East Coast of Canada. This seahorse had colourings of pink and blue and has a hole in the top of his head. Oddly enough it washed up on a red faux velvet pillow.

Early next week, I will be tallying the votes for our Reader’s Choice – Name That Vase to see who is the winner. You can check out all the name suggestions and creative writing here.

Have you ever seen a seahorse? What do you think of this one?

    1. Thanks for your kind words! I am glad the post made you smile. I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend!

  1. I think seashores are a fantasy idea; and so mystical… But they are a bit creepy to me 🤣 I can’t tell you why. The art of yours is wonderful. Next time, pick a turtle haha.

    1. haha! What should I name the turtle if I make one 😉 I know what you mean by the seahorses … I just imagine a dude ranch in the ocean somewhere and a salon LOL Hope you are having a great weekend and there has been some good news regarding your guy 😉

      1. Thank you ~ I’ll get back to you about the turtle name. Seahorse Salon where you can get the best Blu Lagoon. Ha! NOW THAT’S the Nobel Prize in the making!

      2. I hear they also mix the best ‘brown cows’ – lots of extra baileys!

      3. If you were closer I would give you a couple bottles of my homemade wine 😉

    1. I think some of them are hanging out at the seahorse ranch in my imagination! LOL I hope you are having a great weekend!

  2. So pretty. I just got back from a wonderful trip to Belize. Most of my time was spent snorkeling and admiring all the wonderful and beautiful sea life, including colorful coral.

    1. That must have been an incredible experience! I have not been snorkeling in many years!

    1. Thank you! What kind of art piece do you have hanging there? A painting or a drawing?

      1. I’ll try to snap a pic with either the webcam or phone…it’s neither painting or drawing, some kind of pressed-wood type thing…not expensive, but I really like it, as it goes with my seashore motif 🙂 Lots of shells, etc 🙂 Mentally, I live at the beach!

      2. Mentally that is a great place to live! It sounds like you seahorse has the perfect home! I collect shells and seaglass at our beaches, it is like a meditation for me. Where do your shells come from?

      3. Unfortunately, although I’m near to 2 beaches, I don’t drive–so I can’t get to them unless I take the bus…though, I’m hoping I can persuade my neighbor to go in the summer one day. So my shells are either ones given to me over the years, or the tiny ones I’ve ordered through Amazon–which isn’t a bad deal really 🙂 Last year before Christmas I found a string of lights (for decorating) that are REAL shells, not plastic–and I LOVE them. In fact, I decided to keep them out year-round, along a bookshelf (for Christmas, I had wound them around the wreath on the door). I also get one calendar that is seashells (and 2 others with different themes). Oh, and I found some napkin rings that are real shells with some kind of braided twine/light rope–these complete my “seashore table”–shell printed napkins and the most gorgeous dishes and goblets with shell motif (dishes are a muted turquoise color). The whole table “done up” is a dream come true, everything I love and purchased for myself…too bad I don’t have guests as often as I’d like…everyone’s “busy” 🙂 I’ll try to get those pics for you later…though I did post some of the table setting in a post, earlier, so I’ll find the link for that for you too 🙂

      4. The table setting is beautiful! Do you have any seaglass? I really like how the plates go with the aquatic life theme and the shade of blue is beautiful. These busy people do not know what they are missing. I mean great food and a beautiful table. I am going to post some more pictures of the beaches around here soon! I hope your week is off to a great start!

      5. I only have a little bit of sea glass–which I love…I may order more from Amazon (I guess I can trust that it’s “real”?). I can’t believe it’s Monday…slept most of the day! You have a great week too! 🙂 I’ll look forward to your beach photos 🙂

      6. So I have more pieces of seaglass then I know what to do with. If you ever decide to order some, I can just send you some COD. That way you will know it is real and not tumbled. It is one of the ways I meditate and clear my head. I bring the dog to the beach and look for seaglass when the tide is out.

      7. Anytime, I have countless mason jars full of them 😉 I can’t think of a better home for some of them. I was out today on the beach collecting again today.

    1. Thanks for your kind words! I imagine those seahorses looked pretty dazzling! I hope you have a great week ahead!

  3. Love the seahorse in that colour (my favourite)!Very fantastical.By the way, your fellow Canadian Bruce Cockburn has great song called “Little Seahorse”!

    1. Great tune! Thank you so much for your kind words! I hope your week is off to a great start!

      1. Yes indeed, five day break for Easter, and then Anzac Day on 25th is another national holiday, so not a lot of actual work getting done.More time to blog I guess ! That Cockburn tune has an analogy of a seahorse to a foetus, very cle ver .But not turquoise. Keep up the creative work!

      2. Thanks! I hope you enjoyed your holiday time! I did check out the song, as I had not listened to Bruce in awhile, so thanks for mentioning it!

  4. Beautiful and Magical. Absolutely love Seahorses. Have never seen one in real life but I’ve a couple of little Seahorse sculptures. 🙂 So Mystical. Love the colour too.

    1. Thank you so much! I have not seen a seahorse in real life too, but I would like to! There is almost something spiritual about them, and they always make me smile. I kind of picture a dude ranch under the sea 😉
