I hope everyone has had a great week!
I have been exploring some new raku pottery glazing techniques lately. Or at least new to me. This particular piece has a very ‘Easter’ feel to it. I like how the blues and pinks have blended and all of the different textures on the piece, but this is not the end of my experimentation. I would like to work towards creating a glaze effect with these colours that is softer and has more of a watercolour effect.
There will be another ‘Name that Vase’ post next week, and I thought it might be fun to have my readers choose which vase will be featured next.
Which vase would you like to see featured next?
I am also wondering how people might feel about having my readers choose the name for my next vase from the submissions?
Want to see more of our raku pottery vases? You can check them out here!
So enjoy your work. I nominate vase # 2 for the next feature. Blessings always…….
Now that I think about it, I have a question. Are we choosing between two vases or three? If only two–not counting the “Easter” one, I’m voting for #1.
I was only originally asking people to choose between two of the vases, but if enough people are interested in the Easter one, I will add it 😉 Thanks for clarifying your pick! Have an amazing weekend 😉
Thanks so much for your kind and encouraging words! I hope you are having a beautiful week.
The blues and pinks and textures are beautiful!
Amazing! Beautiful!
Thank yous o much for your kind words. I hope you have a nice weekend!
Thank you, I hope you have a nice weekend too. ❤️🙏🏻
All three are very very very nice. Tough choice. I would vote for the first or second one.
Thanks for your kind words and I had not considered adding the first one to the mix for the Name that Vase, but if people are most interested in that one, that is what I will do!
The voting is young, my friend…
I love the colors in your “Easter” vase. I have an underwater wall hanging in my head that uses shades of that blue.
Thanks for your kind words. I think that underwater wall hanging might need to come out of your head and into the world! I bet it would/will be quite lovely!
The poece in the middle is amazing. Love it!
Thanks so much for your kind words! I hope you have an amazing week.
You’re welcome. Happy weekend!
Thank you 😉
I admire your passion for this hobby. These are beautiful. Each one has taken on a life of it’s own. If I had to choose which vase to buy, I’d pick #2.. So I’m going to go with that for the next feature. It’s such a unique shape.
Thanks for your kind words. I feel pretty lucky that I get to play with clay! Thanks for choosing a vase and I hope you have a great weekend!
By the way, that Easter vase is outstanding!! I wish it were mine. LoL
Wow, thanks! That vase was meant as a test, so I really appreciate your comment. If you are ever interested in making it yours, feel free to send me an email 😉
I would in a heartbeat if I could. I simply don’t have what you deserve for it.
You are too kind and that means a lot to read 😉
How beautiful they all are! It’s the middle vase of the three which stands out for me; how I would love to own that one!! It gets my vote (though no inspiration yet when it comes to a name!)
Vase 2 🙂
Thanks so much for picking a vase and I hope you have a great weekend!
hello! I am new to word press and find it next to impossible to find out how to talk to fellow bloggers. Now that I have found this space, to say hello, how do I find you on twitter? I can’t find your twitter handle. I’ve got raku peeps in my twitterland. I want to share your work. I love it 🙂
Welcome to wordpress and thank you so much for your kind comments. My twitter handles is:

i didnt look very closely then. apologies. sorry wordpress. very pleased to see your creations.
No worries 😉 I hope you are having a good day!
I’m keen on the first one– the one with the darker blue. Remarkable!
Thank you for letting me know your vase preference and your kind words. I hope you have an awesome weekend!
Thanks! You, too! Though the weather forecast is not all that great.
The colors and textures in the Easter vase are gorgeous. You do such beautiful work.
Thanks so much for your kind comment! I am going to experiment more with those glazes and different textures. I hope you have a great weekend!
Thanks. You too!
I love them all! Vase #1 is my fav because I love the blue and rust colors! It has the look of autumn, my favorite time of the year, and it would go well with my decor.
Absolutely beautiful. I’m sure the pictures don’t give the pottery and their unique glazes their full justice! Your pictures do make me want to touch and hold your pottery. I get the same feeling when I look at stones!
Thanks so much for your very kind and generous comment. Pottery can be tricky to photograph well, but slowly I am learning. I am glad my pieces invoke a response where you want to touch them and experience them with a different sense. That is great to hear! I hope you have an amazing weekend and thanks again!
Last one from this post 🙂 Amazing work though!
Thank you so much for letting me know your preference and your kind words. I hope you have a great weekend.
Oh my, glorious colors!!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I hope you are having a great weekend!
Please know that my comments are 100% sincere…some blog folk think I’m merely kind, but I wouldn’t waste my energy in flattery. I truly love your pottery and the colors really are glorious–kind of Easter-y, as you mentioned. Great weekend so far, got lots of writing done, baked Pound Cake, and later today I’ll make homemade mac & cheese for my sweet neighbor who helps me with errands sometimes 🙂 I was thinking of you earlier–when I found a quote to post later which reminded me of a late friend who was Canadian and a nurse…you’ll read it, perhaps 🙂 Have a blessed day! <3
I really appreciate your supportive comments about my pottery and it means a lot! You have a lucky neighbour homemade mac n cheese is very yummy (as is Pound Cake!) You were not lying when you said you got lots of writing done this weekend! I just spent some time on your website and one of your pieces made me smile and laugh 😉 There is a lightness and beauty in how you use words . I hope you have a great evening!
Oh my, you are so precious! The mac & cheese was a hit…and I’m now cutting the 2nd loaf of Pound Cake, arrgghh! 🙂 Thank you so much for reading my many posts, and for your wonderful comments! Blessings to you as we begin a new week <3
I am glad the mac n cheese was a hit 😉 Now I am going to be thinking of Pound Cake! I am sure I will be reading more of your writing in the future! Thanks for the nice conversations!
Thank you, too!! Do you have a good Pound Cake recipe? If not, I have a couple I could post later… Take care this week <3
I have a recipe for it, but if you want to give away your best pound cake recipe, I will give that a try 😉
🙂 🙂
Just gorgeous! Do you have any tutorials on how you glaze?
Thanks so much for your kind words! I have a few videos throwing on the wheel. I have not done any glazing videos yet. I hope you have a great weekend!
Thank you so much! I love all your gorgeous pottery!😍❤️️
I can’t choose! 🙂 They are all so beautiful!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I hope you are having a great weekend!
You’re welcome! 🙌🏻 It’s a joy to share in your art. Having a wonderful weekend, and I’m wishing you a wonderful one, as well! 😊
It is a joy to share it! Thanks for your kind wish, it will be a good weekend, we are going to go for a hike later after it warms up and I get to work on pottery the rest of the day, so it will be amazing!
A hike sounds great. Can’t wait to see the pottery! 😊 Enjoy!
Thanks!
I really like the colour combinations in the first two.
Thanks so much for letting me know which ones you like. I hope you have a great weekend.
My vote is for the Easter vase but they are all beautiful. 😊
Thanks for choosing a vase! I hope you have a beautiful weekend!
Hope you do as well. 😊
The Easter one is wonderful—between the other two, though, I’d choose #1
Your work is beautiful, a pleasure to view.
Thank you so much for your very kind words! I hope your week is off to a great start!
Thank you, yours as well!
Beautiful work – vase #2 if my favorite.
Thanks for your vote! It came close to deciding the chosen vase! I hope you have a great week!
I like the blue and pink vase the best.
Thanks for your reply! I am thinking that we may do an Easter edition of name that vase and that piece will be the one!
Love the middle piece from the triptych at the top of this post 🙂
Thank you so much for your kind words! I hope your week is going well!
All three are beautiful, but the second holds most spring images for me. It looks like blooming bushes and above it blue sky. Amazing. 🙂
Thank you so much for your very kind words! They are very much appreciated. I hope you have a beautiful day!
I love the Easter colors
Thank you! I hope you are enjoying your weekend!
Love the colours and the light in your work.
